Default UDPs install

I want to do a UDP install, but after reading over the directions - I am not 100% sure about doing it and not screwing it up

Anyone know some place in NJ that can take care of this, or will a regular mechanic be fine?

Thanks all!

It's a very easy job. All you need is a pulley puller for the crank and you'll be fine. You can rent one at Advanced Auto Parts or another similar store.

+1. Or you can just buy it for $10-$15. Took me 40 minutes to put it on and another 40 to figure out how to get the @#$%ing belt back on....

Are air tools really needed or will regular hand tools be fine?

Air tools are recommended but hand tools are fine if you have a breaker bar, are very strong, or have a buddy to help you out.

You don't need air tools, but they would definitely help if you have access to it. The alternator pulley was a big PITA for me, but I was an idiot and took the belt off before trying to loosen it up. Just loosen that up before you take the belt off, and it should help. Having a buddy help you out makes it easier too.

I couldn't tell you how much I gained, didn't have a dyno done. I did notice that the car seemed to pick up speed more in the upper RPM and it would rev quicker.

Just be carefully if your getting a set of pulleys that piggyback your crank pulley....i bolted the old balancer to the new pulley and w/o even getting to the torque it was supposed to be at, 2/3 holes stripped....so its now rigged in there and wobbels (which i now found out is spraying oil out)

just ordered a march 1 piece underdrive pulley...one of those fluid dampened ones

hopefulyl that should take care of that problem....i didnt really feel comfortable after i put the BBKs on..just one of those gut feelings ya know?
