Game Plan

Game Plan
After years of wishing I finally have a mustang (that I can actually drive). It is an '03 GT, auto (yea....I know), with magnaflow cat back and "H". I am about to order a BBK CAI, and a set of FFRP 3.73 gears and a SCT 4 bank chip (with selector). Also going to upgrade to 13" cross drilled rotors, SS lines and Cobra calipers. BUT......before I drop all this money....and input would be appreciated!!

RE: Game Plan
is the h an aftermarket mid pipe or stock?
sounds good. but i would go with a little more gear. Just me though
look at JLT ro tunableinduction for the CAI. you might rather the bbk but throwing that out

Two stock 5 speeds and a TKO (thats holding, knock on wood) later and I'm wishing I had an automatic... I spend alot of money on parts that didn't make it go any faster (trans, bellhousing, etc).

RE: Game Plan
My grips with the auto (and subsequent embarassment) are: 2.84 1st vs 3.37 in stick and .7 o/d vs .67 5th, not to mention generally larger gaps b/n gears, and finally less responsiveness. BUT.....I put about 300-500 mile a week on the car, much of which is houston traffic, plus I got a killer deal....so I guess I'll just cope.

RE: Game Plan
Sounds like a plan. Auto is great for the strip...I agree don't be embarassed. To each his own. +1 on reconsidering the bbk cai. JLT isn't metal (think heat conductor)....are you planning on s/c or juice? These are big considerations as far as gears go (and a bit minor of a consideration when it comes to cai).
