Using M/T Drag Radials on Road Course???
I'm looking at getting a set of the new 315/35/17 M/T Drag Radials. I do a fair amount of drag racing and I love taking the stang up in the mountains. I am also planning on doing some Auto-X and Road Racing this summer too. My question is are the drag radials ok to use to do all of this?

wouldn't to it. DR sidewalls are soft so you get maximum traction in a straight line. It makes for real unpredictable handling. If you do auto-x or mountain runs, i highly suggest getting a street-type tire and having a pair of wheels with a DR setup.

They should work pretty well. Warm them up before you go around. A sticky tire is a sticky tire and since you have the 17 inch ones instead of the wrinkle walls so that should benefit you.

eh, i dont see MT's doing really well on a road course..
sure the tire will stick to the pavement, but your sidewall's gonna be under ALOT of stress, and being that MT's are softer thna **** to begin with, putting them in such a situation could create *as mentioned* some pretty unpredictable behavior.

i know from experience. I ran BFG drag radials around Road Atlanta and some autocross, and it was pretty scary. I would not imagine doing mountain runs on them.
