inconsistant base circle sizes, requiring shims and grinding on the lash adjustors to get it right. the cams made in the last 6 months are supposably been right but I dunno - their problem was rumored to be because of cruddy machinery and poor quality control - thats why I don't think I could ever trust that company - they recently even recalled thousands of sets of springs because they were made ****ty too

their fine as long as you make sure to properly setup the valvetrain, don't "assume" they'll bolt-in without checking and re-checking everything

That should be done regardless. You should never assume the parts you get are the right size or not defective, no matter what you're putting it on. A poorly installed or incorrect part inside an engine = a very expensive mistake.

i've had my comp 270's in and running since july, no problems or complaints here.

but of course, the above is true. always check and re check. get your math right, and you shouldnt have any problems.

first i recommend hiring a good engine builder to do it if you're not sure how to do it yourself.

VT stge II's are great cams, as are comp 270's. with the comps, order them WITHOUT the extra 5 degree timing advance. combined with a proper in stall, you wont have any trouble. i'll post up a few vid links in the video forum.
