Most manufacturors have a different way to disable the airbags. I have the one for Cadillac written down somewhere, but I don't know about Ford. The best way to find out is looking in a service manual for the specific car.

Why would you want to turn off your airbags?

Do you want to eat a steering wheel? It's against the law BTW.

I thought if you unplugged the light for the air bag that like a beeping noise willstart. Ya FORD can turn the light off I believe and you can unplug the connector from behind the airbag to disconnect it.

how is it against the law? people use aftermarket steering wheels with no airbag, i doubt thats illegal.

i dont really understand why u dont want airbags. i think i would want airbags if im going to hit something hard enough to make them go off. id rather hit that then the steering wheel.

I've been driving for 47 years and have yet to "hit anything" or have anything hit me (crashes while racing [bikes and cars] don't count).I think it's hilarious that the government won't let you ship one (disconnected and in a box) via USPS because it's an "explosive device" but they mandate that you drive down the road with one armed and in your face. My GT still has them, however once I figure out what to do with the cruise control switches the OEM wheel is coming out and a rosewood MOMO is going in...

it can be considered insurance fraud because you are taking a saftey device off your car and it puts you in more danger.
