Haha, anyway, well you need to first be absolutely sure that there's nothing obstructing the full range of motion of the needle. Is the paper rippled, is there any dirt in there? If you need to, get the front glass (plastic) off and blow it all out with some compressed air and feel for any bumps with your hand. Try pushing the needle around and see if it physically is stuck. If not, then we know it's something deeper and harder to diagnose though.

Yeah... I can see where you do a lot of laughing.[8D] I definitely plan on being there this year. Last year was the first year I wasn't in Dallas in several years and I couldn't stand it. Gotta get my tickets this time.
Edit: Haha, I just realized I'm wearing an OU shirt and hat in my reflection in my sig.

Let me ask... I did just install my shifter and I had som problems... there is wiring in there... I there any chance that the wiring in there could have been messed up??? This seemed to start after I installed my short throw....

RE: RPM Guage
There's wiring in where? The only wiring that I can think of is the wiring to the cigarette lighter... Not sure what other wiring you're talking about.
Here's a pic of the actual shifter that's in your car when it was installed on mine haha: http://ajerman.com/car/triax.jpg
Do you just mean the wire going up the left and acrosst he top? Because that's the cigarette lighter. Other than that I don't know whatchu talkin bout.
And yes, to replace that tach you'd have to replace the whole cluster. That or you could get an aftermarket which would be better anyway (stock gauges suck). Honestly, if just the gauge stutters and the car doesn't at all, I wouldn't even worry about it. Then again, I guess it makes it hard to know where exactly you are when you're getting close to redline. My best solution to the problem, and cheapest, would be to just get a shift light. That's cheaper than replacing the cluster or getting an aftermarket, and does a better job at making sure you don't over rev because you don't have to keep looking at your gauge to know.
