Might get the fuego tuner

Might get the fuego tuner
I know, I know, it's not the SCT tuner...but it's $100 less and seems to do everything I need it to do. I want a more agressive 93 tune to take advantage of some of my mods, firmer shift points and adjusted rpms for my auto, and to read any trouble codes that may arrise. Am I really suffering from poor judgement here?? It is friday, maybe I'm tired.

I've never even heard of "Fuego".
IMO just spend the extra $100 and get the SCT. Even If you don't plan on getting a dyno tune in the future, do you have any tuners in your area who tune using "Fuego"? If not, don't wast your time or money on that thing.

Don't...[ol][*]It has been discontinued by Granatelli, and their support stinks;[*]The product was mis-represented from the get-go, it has no data logging capability or PC interface;[*]"JR" at Granatelli is unreliable. After I bitched he sent me an email stating that he would be interested in working with me to develop the PC interface (I doinstrument interface softwarefor a living)--this was 2-3 weeks before they discontinued the product and he has never responded to numerous follow-up messages;[/ol]
It's tuning capabilities are the same as the Diablosport Predator (in fact I believe Granatelli was instrumental in developing the Predator), and it does program fast (less than 90 seconds). You can yank the flash memory card out and read the files on a PC, however other than the saved OEM tune everything is in a proprietary format that none of the available PC apps can read.I got mine for $199 + shipping($15 IIRC) so I won't say I got stiffed. It does work well as a tuner with all the usual stuff (canned tunes for octane, timing tweaks, rear O2 sensors on/off, EGR on/off, tire diameter, rear-end gears, shift points for autos, etc.),however as a discontinued and unsupported product it should be selling for $150 or less. Send the eBay seller a message and ask them if they are aware it's a discontinued product.

I wouldn't goas far as "stinko", it does do all the tuning stuff that the Predator does, butthe $249 to $299 that most of the eBay vendors want is too much for an orphaned product.
