No it doesn't to both questions. I just did it. I'm having mixed feelings about it. Yeah my RPMs come down more quickly after I let off the gas which is nice because I don't use my brakes as much and it sounds a little better in that respect. But my exhaust bubbles when I rev it and let off the gas quickly. Even when I'm driving around and take the car out of gear when the RPMs are mid to high range I get a quick little bubble which sounds like A$$ to me. Hopefully when I get longtubes and a midpipe it will stop but if not I'll probably stick the old gasket back in.

Bubbles FTW.
Make sure you idle is around 750+. I think mine is 800-ish. Running the car at 500 may not be using the oil pump to its full potential which spells bad news.
Oh, PS:
Mods how come you havent put this mod into the How Tos yet? Other who glance over that page may be missing out!

you MIGHT need to make the hole a little wider then. I Know 3/16 wasn't quite enough for me and it would hang around 5-700 and eventually die. I just widened it a little bit with the same bit and the next time it worked much better.

Mine pops alot, and I like it. Sounds like it should. The IAC's come WAYYY too big stock on these cars. It shouldn't hang like that.
My car is swallowing gas though...[:'(]

With the IAC mod the mix goes rich when you chop the throttle because of the added restriction the PCM doesn't know about. The unburned fuel pops and burblesin the hot manifold--I like it, makes the car sound like a real, carbureted muscle car...Also, FWIW, I ended up with an 11/32" hole in an aluminum plug about 3/4" long that I machined and placed in the IAC air feed tube. Because of the length of the plug this is probably about the same restriction as a 9/32" to 5/16" hole in a pipe cap in the hose,or the same as a 3/16" to 9/32" hole in an IACbody gasket or plate.
