i just did it a couple days ago for a 99 gt.... u put the key in......,click from position 1 to 3 real fast and on theeighth time it has to land on position 3........the locks wil cycle for confirmatiion, after this happens press all the keys u want to program, and for confirmation the locks will cycle for each button....after ur done go to the 1 position and locks will cycle for end confirmation

ya when u put it in tghat is position 2......turn it toward you....position 1.......away from you...postion 3.....even more position 4 (start the car)

i just found this........ for 94-98
Turn ignition to RUN or ACC. Momentarily jump pins in programming connector located in left rear quarter panel area. All doors will lock then unlock to confirm programming mode. Press any button on 1st transmitter. Door locks will lock then unlock to confirm programming. Press any button on 2nd transmitter (up to 4 transmitters total possible). The door locks will lock then unlock to confirm programming. Turn ignition to OFF. Locks will again cycle to indicate end of programming mode.

Mustang man is right, however you DO NOT need the ignition on, just short the connector in the trunk on the drivers side behind the trim panel. I used a crimp connector to short it. Leve it in and the locks will cycle once, then push the button it will cycle each time a new remote is pushed. Then remove the short. DOne

Ok, I got it to go into program mode, and pushed a button on my remote, nothing...
I've tried everything, bought a new battery, nothing. I've done the procedure like 10 times.
The remote is the extra onefrom my girls 2002 GT, and the key to my 96 Cobra is not original its a copy, does any of that matter?
