My car looked a whole lot worse than that, so you probably dont have all the stuff thats wrong with mine wrong with yours...You probably just have a seal.

I would plan on 1-1/2 hours labor, you have to:[ol][*]remove the wheel, and the ABS sensor (or at least move it back 3/8" or so;[*]remove the differential cover (draining the oil in the process);[*]remove the lock bolt and pull the spider gear shaft;[*]push the axle in and remove the C-clip, pull the axle out;[*]replace the axle seal (I'd do both sides once I was this far);[*]replace the axles and C-clips;[*]remember to remount the ABS sensor(s);[*]replace the spider gear shaft and lock bolt;[*]replace the rear-end cover;[*]fill it up, remember to use friction modifier if the oil doesn't have it already (most synthetics do);[/ol]
Yay, take it for a ride...

If you repair it yourself, be prepared for one of the worst smells ever when you pull off your differential cover.

Ha ha! +1,000!!! I hate that smell! I used to work at Ford and I didn't do diff work that much. Now that I'm working at Chrysler/Jeep I do diffs all day long! It sucks! Dana differentials FTL. [:'(]

Oh yeah, I hear Ford is using Dana diffs in their new cars now. That's going to suck for Ford...
