Default rear end leak

I am in the middle of swapping rear ends, and the front seal on one of them is leaking, do I have to pull the pinon gear all the way out or can I simply pull the nut off of the front and drop in a new seal? Thanks

Default RE: rear end leak

Take the driveshaft down with a 12mm 12 point swivel socket. Then take the bolt off of the yoke. Mark where it came off. Then just use a hooked seal puller to take the old seal off. And use a small rubber hammer to get the new seal back on. It's pretty easy.
