Default More 5.4 Questions . . .

Is there anyway to make aftermarket 4.6 heads and manifold work on a 5.4?

Also is a 5.4 block physically larger than a 4.6? I thought its just a 4.6 with a longer stroke. . .

The 5.4 block has a higher deck height, like the 351 compared to a 302.This would make the intake to small to reach both heads because they are further apart.Im not sure if the heads will work or not.

The heads are exactly the same, you can use a 4.6 intake manifold if you buy the spacer plates from richard racing.

You can make the 4.6L heads work on a 5.4 buy putting the head gasket on the block then setting the head on top of that then you have to take these things called head bolts and torque them all down. 5.4 AND 4.6 HEADS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME HEADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap how many times can this question be asked in a week?

Oh and amoosenamedhank is right about the adapter plates for the intake.

Yeah i knew about the heads i was just being a stoner sorry. But thats nice to know about the manifold. How much would my stage 2 heads, cams, manifold, would make with the 5.4 bottom end. 350 rwhp maybe? Anyways you can pickup 5.4 blocks in good shape for farely cheap. Hmm maybe thats what i'll do. 5.1 stroker ftl compaired to a 5.4. . . . . .

Well thats true. . . . But you could get a forged 5.4 block and it would still be better than a 5.1 stroker

Well then since the heads are the same then the headers for a 4.6 will work . . .

No, your long tubes won't fit. Believe me I tried. No luck, I had to make my own from scratch. I'm not sure if shorties would fit but I didn't want to sacrifice the power.

Edit: I just wanted to mention, they will obviously fit to the head but they won't fit in the car.
