under drive pulley installation
is it hard to do or should i take it to a shop? i hear that the belt is a b!tch to put back on...
also how would i get to the ones now? do you just reach down and do it or does the engine need to be lifted out? it seems like it would be pretty hard cuz' there is not much room to work with... thanks.

RE: under drive pulley installation
its not hard at all. you'll need to remove the fan & its shroud to get easy access to everthing. if you haven't had much experience wrenching on cars, i think this would be a great little project.

It is easy. Besides moving the shrould, you'll want a pully puller for the pressed on pullies. Takes no more than an hour really. The motor can stay in the car too, all the pullies and stuff are right in front of the motor staring at you. And the belt, make sure the routing is correct, and when you go to compress the tensioner to put the belt around the last pully, make sure the pully being put on last is closest to the top of the motor, it makes it easier.

Get an impact wrench a pulley puller and some RTV sealer. Then go to the Steeda website and they have the illustrated instructions.Draw a line drawing of the belt routing before you remove the belt. You did get the Steeda or March pulleys didn't you?The others require you to use the old harmonic balancer as a piggyback unit with the new pulleys. The job takes about 45 mins the first time around. If you can't get the alt pulley off, remove the alt and take it to Advance or Autozone and people tell me they will remove it for you.

you dont need to remove the fan or anything. just the belt and the pulleys. its a piece of cake no matter what tranny you have if you've got an impact gun, you'll also need a balancer puller.
