Went to put the Hurts shifter in today for a T-5,T-45, but the shifter wont shift unles you hold the base of it up an 1/8 of an inch. Anyone ever hae this happen? Any ideas? know idiot either when it comes to cars, but maybe im over looking something so simple, or its just the wronng shift, but the ***** and all look pretty damn similiar.John

Did you follow the instructions EXACTLY? Did you forget the dust boot? I'm not sure if that would cause your problem, but that's something easy to overlook.

Did you put the plastic black retaining cup from the OEM shifter onto your new one?

Naw. I dint get any instructions. Iv put shifters in before so I dint worry about it.I did look on hurst and they didnt say anything special to do.

do a search on here for an aftermarket shifter install and it will tell you exactly what to do.
