Are you sure it's the original midpipe?
I would assume it is. I am the second owner of the car, and I bought it was a hair over 12k miles. It was totally stock when I bought it. I really do not have any real clue if it is stock or not. I do plan on switching it to a SLP pipe as soon as funds materialize. I am more curious if a aftermarket catted X will pass smog here in CA. more than anything else.

If your car has less than 50,000 miles and they notice (and they probably won't) an aftermarket cat that isn't an exact OEM replacement will automatically fail.

yea in san antonio tx they don't check emissions.. and i have the 6 stock cats, (gay i know) but i want to gut 2 of the cats so i can wake up my flowmasters even more...
6? They only came with 4 I thought...
The 99+ have 4 cats. His is a 98 I believe in which they still had 6.
it also depends which state was ur car built for....as in i have a 99 and i had six stock cats. But my car was made specifically for CA emissions.

Oops, I kind of left that incomplete. I figure it will not pass visual if the inspectors are good. I was more worried about the sniff test here in CA.
