are O/R H pipes legal or illegal? will they pass emissions test if they are on the vehicle 2002 GT. Does the 2002 Stock GT come with a Catalytic converter if not what is the best one to get with flowmasters and O/R H pipes? I want the bitch to sound mean. Will i notice a difference in sound when i add headers, cams cold air intake etc... and will you fell the power immediatly.

how can your you have an off road h and still have high flow cats? off road means no cats. having an off road mid pipe there will be no way you pass emissions

O/R pipes are illegal in all states. You may or may not pass emissions or safety inspections. Many of us run them and just wing it come inspection time, I haven't had to deal with it yet and my tags aren't up for another year and a half.

Stock, the 02 Gt comes with four (4), yes FOUR catalytic converters.

You will notice a difference in sound with headers, and most likely cams, but not much with CAI.

Do some browsing and searching here about what mods you will "Feel" immediately.

Of course you will not pass emissions !(If they do a visual inspection) It's called an "Off Road" pipe for a reason. Meaning that it is for "off road use only" because it is illegal to drive on the road.

+1

The gains with a o/r over a legal pipe are minimal. The only reason to go with a o/r pipe other than the sound level (its louder) is its usually alot cheaper.

Yea "off road" pipes are called that for a reason

And I've heard some people who want to remove their cats anyway by "hollowing them out" so they're still in place to pass visual inspection but don't do anything... apparently the exhaust turbulence created by that actually reduces performance (compared to a straight through pipe).
Some people actually sacrifice performance for more noise
