Default Complete newb :/

Hey guys ive read up on suspension but basically am complete newb to cars and am curious as to what the main components struts shocks springs dampers control arms really do. Are dampers the same thing as struts? Help out! Thanks!

Dampers are the same thing as shocks/struts.

Control arms are the 4 bars that hold the rear axle to the car. Aftermarket control arms help to stop wheelhop and reduce wheelspin by planting the tires harder.

Aftermarket shocks/struts and springs do a few different things depending on what you go with. They help with weight transfer (when launching, rising the front up and the rear down so more weight is on the rear tire, thus increasing traction) and handling (less body roll, and if you have your suspnesion set to high resistance less weight transfer).
