Default Spark plugs cause engine ping?...quick story

I had a problem with engine ping for a while now and I kind of gave up on it. Also, cold engine starts were becoming difficult. Finaly, I decided to change the plugs. I picked up some oem plugs from the dealer. When I pulled out the old ones, they were Bosch Platinum AND gapped incorrectly. I bought the car with 37000 km so I don't know what the previous tard owner was thinking. Old plugs showed signs of running too hot (white, crusty residue). Long story short....no more hard starts and no more engine ping at wot.

It's possible if the plugs were gapped incorrectly it would cause detonation problems.

Ok, I have heard that Bosh Platnum's are not good in the 4.6 mod.
