Clutch removal and install HELP!!!
Hi Guys, (and maybe the odd girl or 2)
I've got a 96 GT Convertible up on the jack stands right now. Have the new King Cobra clutch and all the goodies that go with it, as well as a Blue Thunder short throw shifter. Was going to attempt the swap myself as I am pretty mechanical and have all the right tools etc. but after laying under it for an hour or so, I need some HELP!
Anyone know of a link that has removal and installation instructions???
Thanks

RE: Clutch removal and install HELP!!!
drain tranny, or put something on the tailshaft, like ziplock back and rag after driveshaft is out
remove the mid pipe
remove driveshaft
remove starter
then start removing all the of the bolts you can get to on the transmission
when you get all of the bottom/side bolts, remove crossmemeber and you can have someone go to the front of the car and push the motor back, then get the top bolts with longs extensions, once they are all out and the tranny it ready to come out, go uptop and remove the shifer, it will make it easier with the whole thing out, once tranny is out remove bolts on clutch, remove flywheel bolts, get the flywheel resurface, put in a new pilot bearing with flywheel out, then put it all back together and torque everything to the right specs and repeat everything

RE: Clutch removal and install HELP!!!
You need to take it to someone that can install that stuff. If you laid under it that long and still have no clue then you don't need to install a clutch. Not slamming you, just pointing out the obvious.
