Default TECH : How much do you really know"

OK so the mystery is....

My car threw a code, had it checked out. It was bank 1 sensor 1. "o2" so I replaced it and disconected the battery all night. To reset the comp.

The code came back. so I took the o2 out and checked it , looked fine. so I tried again. Still came on.

any ideas why its throwing the same code, with new parts.??

Could the wiring be melted/frayed? Also just disconnecting the battery might not clear the code, clear the code with a scanner and go from there.

Bank 1 is the passenger's side (the #1 cylinder side). I've seen a number of comments here and on other forums claiming it was the driver's side--this is not so...Did you change the passenger side sensor?

so what was the code exactly? just because you get an o2 sensor code, it doesn't necessarily mean the sensor is bad

never mind......

I did and the code came back.

So I thought I had swaped the wrong side.

Thats when I came to the Forum with the questions of the banks.

I'll try and swap out that side again.
