oil pressure question

RE: oil pressure question
If it's the OEM gauge then it should show a bit more than 1/2 scale unless the engine's blown--it's a dummy gauge that goes to that position as long as there's more than 6-8 psi of oil pressure...If you've got a real gauge then 10 psi for each 1k rpm is a "rule-of-thumb"...

RE: oil pressure question
I just checked, the factory spec is 20 to 45 psi @ 1500 rpm (I said the 10 psi / 1k rpm was arule-of-thumb)--I can't find a spec for the oil pump relief valve, however 75 psi at 2500 may be normal.Does it rise to more than 75 at higher revs or level off?Iis that with a hot engine?

at cold start up its at 75 at a idle. after it warms up drops to 25 at idle. it usually stays at or under 75, highest its gone its 80 under hard acceleration.
