Default Ford Racing Drilled & Slotted Rotors

Does anybody have these? Good or bad? I have a 97 sitting on jackstands in the garage. I was just going to have the rotors shaved, bet they are pretty chewed up, and I dont know if they can be turned. If they cant, i'm leaning towards these.

Any opinions?

Thanks
Matt

I have slotted and drilled rotors, not sure which brand because they came on the car. But they sure has hell cool down them brakes. I was at a road course 2 weeks ago, and I felt no squishyness or impairment in the brakes. They ran nice and cool.

I say go for 'em. They look awesome too. I love mine so far.

if your worried about the quality of thoseyou can get brembo rotors for about the same price but i dont think they have slotted/drilled combo only either/or.

i have the FRPP slotted/drilled rotors....they look badass but in terms of improved performance?

nah.....you probably wont see and improvement in stopping power until you upgrade your whole brake system...mainly better calipers....

plus slotted/drilled rotors eat up brake pads a lil bit quicker so dont be too upset when ya gotta change the pads more often than you usually would haha

Nice rust showing. Should have painted them before you installed them. They wouldn't look so bad now.

looks like he just washed the car.. after a short trip it wolnt be there. and how you plan on painting a rotor thats gonna come in to contact with high tempatures and having a brake pad forced apon it?

Actually it is called masking tape, you may have heard of it. You tape off the areas that the brake pads will ride and get a rattle can of you favorite color and apply it in thin coats. When you are done you remove the tape and install the rotor. If you have a small spot of paint in the area of the pad contact don't worry, the brake pad will clean it up with no trouble. I use engine paint as it has good heat ratings.

For what it is worth, the rust in the picture will not be removed by driving, If so there would be a major repair involved.

I have Brembo rotors that were slotted, drilled and zinc coated. They do not fade or over heat.
