Problems starting the 4.6
2000 GT is having problems starting. When I trun it over it strats then dies... I start it again and it dies. If I fether the gas it will remain started. I can drive it, but it feels like it's lacking power and it'll die at a light or a stop sign. After about a mile the car seems normal. I can start and stop with no problems. If the car sits 8-9 hours the problem's back. it starts then dies. Any ideas... I've cleaned the CAI filter, the fule filter has been replaced, the battery, and alternator checked out ok. No check engine light or service engine light either. What could be the cause of this?
Thanks guys.

RE: Problems starting the 4.6
indeed.. idle air control valve. if its dirty or broken the computer doesnt know how much air is going into the engine at idle so it will just kill the engine... id try cleaning it cuz you said its ok after a while so it could just be dirty... otherwise your starter could be going....

RE: Problems starting the 4.6
OK... I purchased some carb cleaner from Auto Zone... took the IAC off and cleaned it pretty good. Put it back on and we are good to go. Thanks RBSTANG for the advise. I love this site. I always find an answer here or someone from here points me in the right direction.
