dads 98 GT - help? hp questions and rear whine?
alright my dad has a 98 GT and has owned it since new. now that he's getting all 'old man' he's starting to mod it. so far he did a complete flowmaster (blegh) exhaust. he's going with a BBK X pipe with cats, and BBK shorties. A bbk cold air intake and a C&L 75mm and intake elbow and BBK Underdrive pulleys. going with this what is a realistic number of horsepower to the wheels, i'm guessing in all honesty maybe 225 and that's being generous given this car is an automatic. would a PI swap really be beneficial or should he just not do it because of downtime or whatnot?
theres also something wrong with the car, the rear end makes a noise coming from the left side. my dad thought it was the brake pads all ate up so we changed em, still made the noise. we saw the wheel bearing was f'd so we replaced it. the car doesn't make the noise as bad but it still does, more pronounced under braking. the only thing we can think of is the caliper is sticking does that sound right?
last one - how do you determine the rear end gear ratio? he can't remember if it was ordered 2.73's or with the upgraded 3.27's so how do i tell?
thanks for bearing with me and any information / help would be appreciative. thanks

i hear its not worth doing the entire PI swap, but it well worth doing the intake swap only, just getting adapter plates and the PI and seeing gains like 30 hp, as for the rear i would say bearings probably..
