Do it when the engine's cool..don't go spraying cold water on a hot motor..but yea let degreaser set on it for a while...spray it off..take a rag and get the little stuff...i use Meguirs Tire Gel on my hoses and other rubber stuff..If you have a CAI where the filter is in the engine bay, don't start the car after you clean the motor, take off the filter and thoroughly dry it out, make sure no water gets in the intake tube. Good Luck.

Theres a long thread somewhere on this board about this. Just do a search. A lot of good info. I just used Simple Green diluted with water. About 50/50. I used bottled water because tap water can cause spots. With the engine cold, I just sprayed over the areas I wanted clean and then lightly hosed off. No super sonic jet streams! Then I used a product called CD2 engine detailers. It works great! Engine looks brand new.

you can get CD2 at autozone..that is good stuff i remember buying a can once...don't worry too much about getting water on the battery and stuff..just don't spray directory on it with a 1200 psi pressure washer and you'll be alright..Just use common sense and you'll be fine.

I used to work at a detail shop. we would just leave the car running so the plugs/coils/dist wouldnt get wet (hard to get wet when its sparking) and keep the pressure washer away from the filter...even before I worked there, i was always taught to leave it running...never had problems with my method so ill stick with it. we used a certain dressing from a local company to make it shine. do it to mine all the time lol stealing company supplies>>buying them from a store
