I had a really difficult time figuring out how to safely remove my door panel without breaking any plastic clips or trim pieces. When searching through posts, many members tried to explain the procedure as best they could without pictures or diagrams. After searching the internet for several days, I found that Autozone.com has a great basic repair section. If you specify a '98 Mustang GT, you can select which part of the vehicle you want to dig in to, and they supply very clear pictures and step by step instructions. I was even able to find out how to repair my power windows, and saved the $350 that the dealer wanted to replace a power window regulator that wasn't even broken. I don't work for Autozone or anything; I'm just too poor to go to the dealership every time something starts to squeak. Hope this helps someone else.

pull the clip from the left side of the door panel (by the bottom speaker,towards the kick panel),remove the window/door lock switch by pulling out and up on the plastic piece,then remove the 2 phillips screws holding the switchs in.remove the door lock pin(Helps if you lock the door),and lift up from the bottom of the trim..gradually apply pressure till it lifts,then carefully move it out and around the door handle.
