yes, another gear question (4.30 guys read)
i know this topic has been beaten to a pulp, and i've tried to stay out of posting about gears and just reading , but I need an answer. i was all set on 4.10's for my 99 GT 5-speed and i talked to a guy in my area who has brand new FRPP 4.30's and install kit for $200. i have no plans to go f/i, and no real plans to do many other bolt ons b/c they're a waste of money for a 2v, but is the difference btwn 4.30's and 4.10's that drastic. i'm just trying to avoid living at the gas station. sorry for the 190987987987 gear question but some opinions from guys with 4.30's would be great. thanks

I love my 4.30's. I have no F/I plans and am not likely to do many more bolt-ons to the car either. The 4.30's are a great gear, and I say go for it. Plus, $200 for FRPP gears and an install kit is a great deal. Just make sure the install kit has new bearings in it as well, you'll probably want to change them since you're in there anyway.
Here's a link to a post of mine where I included a couple videos of how the gears perform. https://mustangforums.com/m_3175907/tm.htm Go ahead and check it out. Keep in mind, however, that you have a different transmission than me (I have the 3650 and I think you have the T-45 in yours) and the gear ratios are different. Use this gear calculator to help you out in your decision. http://www.svtoa-atlanta.org/cgi-bin/trans.cgi
Hope it helps.

nvm...posted before i watched the vid. they seem great, but when you shifted to second you were allready at like 4k...just seems like the gears are short as sh*t when you stand on it. hows just regular driving like around town, a pain in the a$$ or what?

most people on here who are f/i run 3.73 i think, but there are some who run 4.10's. the 3.73 guys will tell you get 3.73's and 4.10 guys will tell you to get 4.10's. it's all personal preference i guess...talk to some f/i guys
