I have a 97 gt with some type of alarm on it. (just bought a few weeks ago).

It works through the ford keyless remote.

Did that year mustang come with a factory option alarm? I want to get another keyless remote, but want to make sure it will work with the alarm.

according to ford NO.... but you're not the first person to tell me they have one on their car.... so I still have no real idea.. but my car doesn't even have keyless entry (need to get that fixed) so yea... prolly doesn't help just what i've heard and the fact that I don't have one

ha i have an alarm too, so i figured it was stock, do you have the on/off switch by your foot? if you do i guess that is how it came, if not, thne maybe each one is different, all i can say is that i turn off my alarm because its really annoying and its always going off lol

They did come with an "anti theft control unit" and its located in the left rear of the trunk behind paneling. If you have keyless entry then an aftermarket alarm will be quite easy to install since the doorlocks will be a negative trigger.
