Do you ever leave your car? How does it feel to have racked up almost a 1,000,000 miles?

I have worked as a consultant for many years now, and as I really enjoy driving and amnot wild about flying (particularly now that the "airport gestapo" is in charge), I rack up a lot of miles--I also like to live a considerable distance from my office as it minimises my involvement the the nights and weekends stuff...

My '99 GT had 119k used no oil, had good oil pressure, etc. I'm sure it had lots of life left in it.

We have crown vic's in our dept that have 250k + that still run strong, and you know how cops drive. Its all about how you keep up the cars. Change all the fluids on time and dont rag on it too hard and i could see one hitting 300k.

These engines should last a long time seeing that alot of police depts and taxicab services uses them. I have 88K on my 03 and she hasn't given me one problem. She does use a little bit of oil between oil changes but not anything to write home about. These motors will last a long time if they are not beat on and power shifted on a contsant basis.

Keep your oil clean--start-up, drive 15 minutes, and stop for several hours is severe duty--make sure you take it out once a week and let it get good and hot for a while to boil the crap out of the oil...
