Default Speedometer gear?????

Me and a friend wanted to know if there are speedometer gears that can be installed to correct your speedometer after doing a gear swap? We know that tuners and speed-cal box's can be used, the reason he want's to know if a speedometer gear can be used is because he's looking at a mach1 and 06gt both manual and they both come with warrenties. He think that if he use a speedometer gear that it will not be easily spotted if the car has to go in for warrenty work.

yes there are speedometer gears but that do not correct the speedo exactly and the dealership would probably notice something the speedo being off

I dont think those year models use speedo gears anymore, I think 99+ speedos are electronically controlled.

that is correct they don't need a speedo gear, i don't think a tuner voids the warrenty and if it does he could take the tune off before going to the dealer

I would be careful here. If it is going to be under warranty I wouldn't do that. The performance gear would probably void any warranty. I know what the Magnuson-Moss act says as well but the gear swap would IMO void the power train for sure.
