Help!! ASAP '97 cobra motor s/c into a 96 gt
Hey guys I'm new to the site. but i've been doing some research on here, and still have questions. I found a cobra motor that the guy said is from a 1997 cobra with 8,000 miles on it. It has a kenne bell supercharger on it with the cobra symbol in the middle of it. I know they didn't come stock with a s/c in 1997, so im guessing it's aftermarket. The guy wants $3000 for it/ I only have till tomorrow to get it ( or else i lose a loan from a friend).
I've done a search and some people on here say that i need to swap the ecu and the wiring harness. Can i get away with using the stock units? It doesn't come with the the harness. Also where do i get an aftermarket one at, if not? I did a google and couldn't find anything. Also the motor has no accessories or brackets on it, can I use the accessories and brackets from my 1996 GT? Besides that it is complete: bottom end, heads, supercharger, etc. I need your hep asap so i can make my decision on weather or not to buy it.
PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!!!

Are you sure it has a KB on it because they usually don't have the Cobra symbol on them and what you described sounds like a stock Cobra intake.
Yes you need a Cobra Wiring harness and ECM/ECU and some of the Acc will transfer but the cooling system is a little different. Its not a hard swap but its not a drop in and go swap either

i'd be a little iffy unless i knew the seller, $3000 for a cobra engine with ONLY 8k miles AND a KB supercharger. most of those years of cobra engines go for that price but around 60k mile and its all stock

yea it definitely had a kb on it, it said kenne bell and had the blower pully. i asked the guy why he was sellling it and he said that he had a motor built for his car, from some performance place out of canada, because he was building a full race cobra or something. he said the place charged him a $2400 core charge and figured he could just sell it instead of having to ship it back. the fact that it had the blower with the cobra symbol and the guy saying it only has 8,000 on it for $3000 makes me question it. I think I'm going to pass on it and do what i originally planned on doing. Which is build a forged bottom end, get the PI heads and get a k/b s/c. I know there are a lot of mixed opions of the Kenne Bell, but i like the roots style set ups better. just my preference
