Clutch problems?

Clutch problems?
Hey guys, tonight is the night for all my threads I guess. So for the last 15k miles or so (32k miles on the car), I've been hearing what I believe is the throwout bearing on it's way out. My clutch has been progressively engaging further and further from the floorboard; the little stock adjustment doesn't do anything for me either. It's so bad now that it engages at the very top of the pedal motion. My 2nd gear used to be hard to get into (still is), and then 3rd came, and 4th a little bit. I thought at first synchros, but now I'm almost positive that I couldn't **** up 4th gear synchro; hell, I don't drag it, so good luck messing up 3rd.. Soo anyways, should I be looking into clutch kits?
Thanks guys,
Shawn

RE: Clutch problems?
Almost sounds like the self adjuster is screwed the pooch. Time to get a quadrant and firewall adjuster. I would try that before I screw around with a clutch. It would be cheaper and may fix your trouble.

RE: Clutch problems?
If the clutch is engaging high then it should be throwing out quite completely with the pedal pressed, however it could be moving the TOB so far forward that it's binding up the Belleville spring and friction disc--does it still shift har if you don't press the pedal all the way? Also, loosening the cable should move the engagement point lower; although the OEM ratcheted quadrant adjuster usually leaves too much slack for my taste...

RE: Clutch problems?
If it doesn't slip yet and the throwout bearing doesn't clunk yet then there is no reason to change it yet. I'm going through the same thing right now. It doesn't bother me enough to do anything yet though.
