Hey everybody i havea weird noise comin from my 03 mach 1..whenev im cruisen under 40 mph at a low rpm theres a squeaking/whistlingnoise coming from what i think is the tranny. ive noticed when i put my footslightly on theclutch the noise goes away (i never rest my foot on the clutch)or whenever i accelerate the noise goes away also...the noise goes away on the freeway and at idle..only happens on the city streets...can someone tell me what specifically this noise could be???

clutch fingers worn? how many miles down it have on it?

it has 27,000miles on it,its really starting to annoy me now

i'd say it's the clutch disc,the fingers are probaby worn from somebody riding the clutch/resting their foot on the clutch while driving.

the tranny is pretty smooth from what ive noticed

Couldn't hurt,and when you have the tranny out make sure the throwout bearing is good,if it's busted it can cause sloppyness/chatter.

Easiest way to tell if your tob is busted... put the car in neutral and let the clutch out if you hear a lot of noise... more then likely your tob is busted... mines gone out 2 times but thats a long story..
