Default To those that have BBK long tubes

To those that have BBK long tubes. Did you find that you needed to purchase BBK's mid-length pipe or were you able to hook up to your current exhaust system? I am trying to buy L/T's for my 02 GT but now I am really confused. I was looking at the Hooker ceramic coated (expensive!!) part number 6230-1 but tech support told me I needed to buy Hookers mid-length pipe which did not have catalytic converters. I don't want to go that route. I have a Steeda 2 1/2 inch exhaust with high flow cats. Basically, everything back from the stock manifold was replaced. Now I am back to the BBK's but I want to make sure I get all the parts I need the first time. Also, if anyone knows of a good mid-length header, I would be interested to see those. Seems it would be easier to just go with a mid-length and be done with it. Any feedback would be helpful.

I've always wondered why people just dont go to the "ole" muffler guy down the street, and chop their current mid to fit the LT's.

Well, that's what I thought but apparently not. I have a small time frame in which to get this done and I don't want to buy something that won't fit, or not have the correct parts. Seems to me a good shop can modify the current pipes to fit the long tubes. I can get a set of bbk's for 419.00. Ceramic coated.

I bought the BBK short x pipe because it was cheaper to get it than to have the muffler shop chop my stock midpipe. Plus it was a 2-1/2" pipe vs. stock 2-1/4".

it is very cheap probably $70 to get your midpipe cut to fit the long tubes around me... if your have high flow cats i would suggest doing it that way and saving alot of money, only takes them an hour or 2 to do it..

Special deal from a local shop. Someone bought them and returned them because they did not like the dent on the primary on the drivers side. The are brand new. I suppose I can buy the X pipe and tell the shop not to use it if they need it. Had my heart set on the Hookers, but man are they expensive.!!
