Default IAC problem, I think?

Well, I did the write-up the other day of how to make those holes smaller in the gasket (not sure if that's related to the IAC). Well I did just what the write-up said, made the hole 3/16. It ran just fine after that, it reved down real quick, but the idle stayed the same, around 750. Well I drove it for a couple days, and the idle stayed the same, 750, right where it normally is, until I dropped off my a couple days later, the CEL came on. Well I did some searching (using the search option ) and I read that you should unplug the battery to let the computer adjust and such... So I did, for 30 minutes, plugged it back in, CEL was off... Idle was still all weird. So I drove it around a bit, CEL came on... It idles anywhere from 1000/1100 with the A/C off, and 500 with the A/C on... with it almost stalling out when I turn the A/C on.

The IAC couldn't have went bad with me just changing out the gasket could it?

Well I can't find your other post... can you catch me up real quick? I just had some IAC problems and everything was fixed with a $3 can of carb cleaner... maybe I can help...

I didn't write the write-up, I just followed it Nice car btw.

I'll go make the whole a tad bit bigger, it's still about 1/20th the size of the stock holes right now.

i had the same problem last week..the bigger you make the whole the higher your rpm's will be. i made my hole one size smaller than 3/16 and it works pretty good. it idles around 900-950, but still almost stalls with a/c. my conclusion is that with this ghetto mod your ac becomes unusable...when i put my a/c on with it the car runs like total sh*t....so just enjoy it with the windows down!

Yeah, I had it the size below 3/16, but it would take two to three tries to crank it on a cold start... I'm not going through that everytime... And even then it through the CEL.
