Default bypass question

my birthday is next wednesday, and my dad wanted me to let him know what i wanted soon. So, my next step with my car is a FMIC. I think it would really help me out if he got me a Vortech Mini Race bypass valve. I am going to get the red/polished bypass valve. I just had one question: Should i get the aluminum or steel weld on flange??

Thanks guys

how will that benefit you only running like 8-10psi? you mean it'll benefit the sound so people turn their heads and pay attention to you.

You should get aluminum because I'm going to guess that is what your intake piping is going to be.

A lot of the guys on modularpowerhouse.com complain about the stock bypass not being enough when you install an intercooler. They say they have a lot of trouble with tunning.

yeah seriously nanaki, chill out man. Im not doing it for sound. Tim from MPH told me that when I install a FMIC, I should upgrade my bypass to prevent surging. I was thinking aluminum, but wasn't sure...

Yup as long as you intake piping is aluminum then you'll be good to go.

cool, i can't wait to add this FMIC on. I'm not sure if im going to lower the pulley any because at 6k rpms im seeing 12psi, which is a little more than what id like to be at. Maybe I'll throw the FMIC on and see what i can get out of that alone. I'm thinking of going with a set of MPH custom grind blower cams the same time so i only have to get one tune.

You may be able to hear it but I don't think it's going to be that loud because it vents back into the intake tube instead of into the atmosphere. You can use any blow off valve on a s/c. It doesn't make a difference.
