wow, haven't posted on here for a while. sorry for the n00b question, but yeah..

i own a 99 gt vert

for a while now, i would randomly have problems with the car shutting down immediately after turning on. this would happen usually on a cold morning. i would just wait a while, and try again.. or press the accelerator a bit, and it would "catch" on and stay ignighted.

recently, though, it wouldn't turn on even after several attempts (including trying to push the gas pedal). and just yesterday, the check engine light went on.

obviously i'm going to take it to get it hooked up to the computer, but my question was.. what are the most common/likely reasons for this happening? i want to have as much knowledge as possible so i don't get swindled.

i'm thinking: -the computer is off
-something wrong wtih the o2 sensor (how many do we have, by the way?)
-the injectors are dirty (but i already added an additive, and it only worked temporarily).

any info/advice would be very much appreciated. thanks!

Have you tried a hard reset on the computer? I was having some problems with my car after I removed my Steeda timing advancer. Got some major misfire and check engine soon light on. I know there was nothing wrong so I resent the computer and she has been fine now.

Try talking dirty... to turn it on.

Yea reset the computer, try that. Just unplug the battery for a while like 30min or so then hook it back up and fire it up. It will run like crap for a little till the computer gets all the a/f ratios right and all that, so just let her idle.

You have 4 02 sensors 2 on each side. I doesn't sound like an 02 problem. I would check your fuel system make sure your getting fuel then go to ignition.

what kind of mods do you have done to it if any?

it's pretty much stock. just a AEM CAI.
