monster tachs are for apperance mostly, its the owners preference, you dont really NEED one unless youre spinning high rpms, with aftermarket crank and cams. they are 90% appearance, youre better off getting an A/F gauge if youre any sort of F/I or a tranny temp if youre an auto. if youre neither, stick to the D-PIC from autometer, neat little gauge.

Obviously you've never raced down the 1/4 mile ,,only to look DOWN at your tach to see what rpm your crossing at,Factory tachs don't have RPM recall....THE factory tach isnt as accurate as most think(mines 200 rpm off @ 3600)....and RICERS copiedFAST DOMESTICCARS with big tachs.....AND FULL blown race cars(I've had several) dont really need a tach either....top end chips, shift chips(air or electric)....and starting line lauch chips(2 step)...its not nessary ,,,but there are benefits above the factory tach...if youactaully Drag race...

The bracket looks pretty simple, if you know anyone with some spare sheet metal and a welder you could probobly make that in a 30 min. Beats 43 bucks and its a still a great way to mount it.

My tach is mounted pretty cool. Its just to the right of the speedo. But I heard there is a new fast and the furious movie comming out so Im gonna put a monster tach in and try to get my car in the movie.

monster tachs are completely pointless unless you are the .0001 % of the human population that has a 1000rwhp+ track beast that doesnt even come with a stock tach to begin with.
you may think it "looks" good but a big 5" tach on your dash is just ugly... and it is in the way. You should be able to hear your car when to shift, or just spend a few bucks for a small shift light.
