Default anti-theft problems help!!!!

Today I installed my new K&N fipk. It all went smooth and my car ran great (when I cranked it and reved it). A few minutes later I decided to take it for a spin. When I put it in 1st gear and started to take off, it died. Soon after I realized my car would barely move without dying. turns out, some MAF wires had been worn bare, so I fixed them and unpluged the battery to reset the engine code it had tripped. when I hooked it back up a few minutes later, it cranked up, let me move it a few feet and died, never to start again. The fuel pump won't even cut on when I turn the key, and the odometer just shows dashed lines instead of my mileage. I think I've some how tripped the anti-theft. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Usually to reset the theft you just have to leave the battery unplugged for maybe 10 minutes and it should fix it. As for the wires being chaffed you may want to check all your fuses. You may have blown one. In the worse case scenerio, you could have seriously damaged the MAS. Does it idle correctly before it dies or does it have the tendency to surge?

Well if I would think that if it were a problem with the theft device then you wouldnt even be able to start it up. Maybe your fuel pump went bad.

Sorry... I just re-read that and seen the last part where you said it wont restart. I would check all the fuses. Its possible that the ECU is fried. My roommate is an aircraft electrician and he is saying that the wires rubbing together could have shorted out and an over current could have fried something sich as the ECU or something related to it.

I left the battery unhooked for 20 min and just tried it, nothin, just turns over. I'll try fuses tommorow when its light outside.

pull your codes, its the easiest and quickest way. i would like to think your ecu is protected by fuses.

i never pulled codes in my stang yet, but used to do it all the time with my 95 f150 with a jumper wire. never failed me and it beats guessing and changing parts that dont need to be changed.
