Can't get my car to go faster than 96 mph?

RE: Can't get my car to go faster than 96 mph?
Trap speed has more to do with the power to weight ratio. More power = higher trap speeds. More traction (better launch) = lower ET's. My '71 has crappy launches, but still traps near 120mph...for a 13.4 second ET.

Here are the basic "cheap tricks" of the track
1). Remove the back seats
2). Remove the passenger seat
3). Run with no more then 1/4 tank of gas
4). Remove the jack/spare in the back
5). Slightly lower your tire PSI on street tires, but not on D/R's.
6). Open your hood between runs to reduce engine temps
Thats it off the top of my head, then for better speeds start modding or removing more stuff.

Hell no. Verts are maybe 150 pounds heavier, not enough of a difference to notice jack ****.

Is the car an auto? Its not a bad trap for a auto vert, espcially one with 18 inch chrome wheels. YOu would be amazed at what a set of heavy wheels will do to the car.

Don't verts have a limiter on them that wont let them pass 98 mph or something like that or am I crazy?

150 pounds is fairly signficant, but I thoguht hte verts were weighing in around 3550-3600 pounds?
