Default Which tire should I get?

OK, its time for me to replace my tires. I currently have Kumho Ecsta MX's and am honestly not too impressed. It might just be me but they don't seem to "bite" well for what is supposedly a Ultra High Performance street tire. Keep in mind I've only been to the track twice in the past 4 years so I'm not looking for DR's.

And very expensive too. Way outside this guy's budget. I had the Generals and they weren't bad, but I say skip them all and go for the BFG GForce Sports. I've never tried them, but for a budget tire I think they'd be awesome.

Get NT-555R's out back. You'll NEVER have traction issues

Although driving in the rain might be a bit hairy...

I didn't mean anything by that, I'm just assuming he is because those are all pretty inexpensive. I agree in most cases you get what you pay for, but in tires I personally just don't see it. There was a time where Nittos and Falkens were a dime a dozen. They got a name and now they're just as much as others. Hell, I'm running cheapie Z rated Nexens off of Ebay ($480 for 265/35/18)and they outright put the General UHPsI had beforeto shame!

I just refuse to spend anymore than I have to for something that expensive that I'm gonna have to replace in 10 to 15,000 miles.....

My feelings exactly. I would like to keep it in the $100 per tire areabecause I don't want to listen to my wife bitch up a storm. She'll give me $400 or so for tires, past that and she'll think I'm just throwing money away. If it were up to her I'd be buying tires from Pep Boys at $36 a piece.

If you have 17sand are on a budget this is what I would do, and I promise you they'd be better and last waaaaaaaay longer than the crappy Sumis everyone ends up with:
