Default Rear Control Arms Question

Hey Guys,

I'm pulling my rear out next weekend to drop in 4.10s and rebuild the limited slip. while its out i'm going to replace the stock control arms. I've purchased Ford racing uppers and OEM lowers to put in, however, neither came with hardware. Does anyone know what size bolts they use on these? ford wants $17 a bolt and i need 8, which is not gonna happen.

Also, when i bought the car it has eibach lowering springs, but stock control arms. should i be replacing the lowers with something other than OEM because of this? i went OEM because they were $75 for the set.

Thanks

I don't understand, is there something wrong with the existing lower arms? If not then why are you replacing them with identical units? As for the bolts, I'd reuse the old ones as they will be better than nearly anything you can buy anyplace other than Ford. I don't know what you had in mind, however they are absolutely not anything you can get at Ace or Home Depot--you might get the corect size however they will not be automotive grade.Try one of the online Ford parts places, $17 a pop seems high.

Can't you just replace the bushings and use the existing bolts?

buy some steeda or maximum motorsports or even some grantelli's. it will stiffen up the rear a little and basically eliminate wheelhop. The stock ones are extremely junky

send back what you got and get these:

http://www.blueovalindustries.com/products.php?pid=614

probably cheaper than the oem lowers and ford racing uppers, and better too. These are what I run and I am 100 percent happy with em, espcially for the price.

edit; They say only up to 1998 now for some reason but its probably to stop people with IRS cobras from buying them.. they are what I have on my car.
