GT, unless you are perfectly fine with blowing twice as much money for the same upgrade you'd get out of a newer GT.

go with the 97 cobra..my friend has a 98 and with a chip, intake, x-pipe and cobra r side exhaust and it hauls ***..way faster then my GT.
I'm pretty sure you having a heavy convertible isn't helping anything.

i personally dont like the 94-98 body style, but if ur fine w/ that get the Cobra, but make sure u get it w/ low miles if ur goin fi. also be prepared to spend a lot more money on modds, insurance, and repairs

Gotta go with the Cobra....they are more rare, have more hp, suspension is better, and respond better to mods. It's just overall a better car than the GT.

Any good driver should be able to hang with a pre 03 Cobra from a light.
true this. when my 98 gt was still non pi with bolt ons, un tuned, i raced a cobra same year and even same color, and i stayed at his bumper until we both backed off at about 60. i didnt launch to hard, or i'd have been side by side with him. my friends 02 GT with gears filter and cat back had a similar outcome.

if you want to supercharge the cobra, make sure the motor is in good shape. unless the DOHC and cobra name is a big deal to you, i'd just buy the GT, or get a new cobra if you really want boost. if you buy the GT, get a late 01 or newer, and get the 3650 tranny. i just don't trust the T-45.

also take into account insurance costs etc... but if boost is what you really want, you're best off buying the 03/04 cobra, as they come boosted and are built like a brick ****house.

No sexier mustang than the SN95 Cobra. With the front fascia and the big nostril looking hood... SWEET! That 4v w/procharger, exhaust and a good tune, will put you way ahead of any GT with full boltons! How much is this Cobra anyway??? can't believe nobody asked.....

03 cobra's r out of most people's price range that is why we settle for GTs or older cobras. lets face it boys if we all the $$$ we would all have 03/04 cobras but unfortunitly we dont. so we settle on a GT. I would still love an 03 cobra.
