no No, NO!!!Themixture goes "rich" (a tiny bit richer than it would be otherwise) for the very brief period of time that the engine is decelerating, and also it's "rich" for a closed throttle condition meaning that there's only a very small amout of fuel being injected anyway--there is no way itcan measurablyeffect gas mileage, or is "bad" for the car. When the engine is operating at normal speeds and loads the IAC is closed and having it blocked as tight as a pig's butt would have not effect on anything--as I said earlier, I get 22.5 to 24 mpg (all highway is the best) with this mod and 3.73 gears...You people that don't have a clue as to how the EFI system works need to keep your yaps shut and stop spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt)...

I copied the old copper plug mod...used a Dorman freeze plug..drilled a small hole(dont remeber what I started with) and enlargedto where it didnt stall..and the idle came down to my liking.Easier IMO than tracing a gasket, cutting out holes ,Removing IAC and re-installing,.....
Dorman part no. 555-015......75 cents..

Custom Tune, decay rate adjustment, no worries! A tune is worth it... It fixes most problems AND you learn where your really at in hp/tq. This is one of the best threads I've read in a long time though.

Do Autoparts stores sell freeze plugs I can drill through? Maybe I'll do it that way. My frikken arm hurts sooo much from open the IAC so many times....[:@]
