Default whining noise

There is this wierd whining noise coming from the pully area when my car is running. Im not sure what it is but im about the change out the bearings in the the three pullys that are not the main components.I started it for a sec without the belt on and it didnt make the noise. Any other ides what it could be?I dont think its the altinator because i replaced it about a year ago. Any help will be great. Thanks.

Sounds like one of your idler pulley bearings are shot. Release your belt tension, remove the belt and rotate/spin all all accessories by hand. The accesory will sound rough, not smooth, when rotated. Check the waterpump, alternator, and ac clutch bearing as well. The most common culprits are the plastic Serpentine belt idler pullies though.
