URGENT!!! FIBERGLASS REPAIR INFO???
ok. well i got in my first wreck today. was pulling out of a parking spot and drove over a vette front bumper. no damage to my car. i only clipped the front lip of the driver side corner pretty much. and it left a chip and a tear like the one you see here...
this car is fiberglass so the bumper can be repaired. what do you guys think it will cost me? we are going no insurance, it is a good friend of mine.
also this was in my truck, so he was in my blind spot and i was already in my truck and didnt see him pull up next to me in the spots. i was pulling forward from it being in the middle of a lot

I may be wrong, but isn't the bumper cover made of a polycarbonate and not fiberglass? IE, it's plastic and the only way to fix it correctly is to replace it. I hope I'm wrong.

I think most bumpers are made of plastic because they are more durable. But I dont know about the vettes. I guess if it has layers its fiberglass if not its plastic. Look at the break. Fiberglass is cheap and easy to fix but paint cost $$$$

it is chipped like fiberglass would be, and it is sharp like it as well.. i found the bumpers online as fiberglass.. it also isnt really flexible at all like my stangs bumper...
i have a friends shop that can do it, so i will have some cut off in the labor, but the paint is that rare dark blue the vettes have...

ok. well that is relieving... im only set one paycheck back on the stang then... not a whole month atleast... i found the vette bumpers new for 550 + shipping for a stock one... i almost **** myself when i saw they were that pricey.
if my friends dad can cut me some deals, hopefully it will be 400. my car is in his shop right now, i pick it up tomorrow. it cost me 400 for him to paint and install my 6 point cage. one person gave me a 600 estimate... and he is also putting on a coat of clear coat and primer on it as well for that price.
