I think the Mach can take a '99 Z28. Not, taking anything away from the LS1, because they are VERY impressive, but if the Z28 is stock with stock tires, I think the Mach will prevail.

Also, just my .02 on this one, but I put very little stock into times posted in magazines. Most of the time, the weather, humidity and track is perfect. They run the cars MANY times, playing with tire pressure and launching techniques before they pull the times for the articles. They have drivers that their job is to put down the kind of times that are listed. Again, this is just my opinion.

Mustangs are not slow. They just are not as quick as LS1's. But obviously a Cobra can handle an LS1 as well as a Mach 1. They will be close stock but it depends on the driver and mods. I mean my friend when he first ran up the track in his SS ran a 13.9 14.1 and a 14.2. I mean he is way better than that NOW but before he sucked at driving. Driver makes a big difference and so does money so go mod it to hell and then destroy him.

i think some of yall are flat out crazy. i have a 04 gt with off road x, diablo pred. ,pullies, cold air, acuffab plenum and 75mm t-body and ive beet a slp 02 ss.but it depends what punch.off the line to 90 i ate there assas but then my cubes started running out but i still gotem.till wee hit100 take it from a low punch

its all about the driver. it will be very close w/ a modded 03 Mach 1 and a Z28. I would guess that the Mach 1 would win cuz of the modds that would put him over the Z28, the manual tranny, and the weight of the Mach 1(less than LS1). I know a someone in college that has a 98 Z28 modded and we raced after class and i stayed w/ him. he clearly beat me but he no way smoked me, and he only pulled 2 car lengths on me up to 90mph. One thing for sure those cars can PULL. Damn.[:@]
