lol thats the only thing that worries me. What made ppl go with 4.10s instead of 4.30s? Yes i realize many ppl have highway concerns. But only 2 (now 3 with dan) will have 4.30s that i know of. The safe bet is defintley the 4.10s, but then am i just like everyone else and by being skeptical i miss out on a great gear!? []

i've been talkin a lot on www.svtperformance.com and looked a few poles and EVERYONE loves 4.10's so going off that i think i'm goin with some 4.10s in the future or maybe 3.90's. 4.30 is probably really cool for GT's.

yea man i'm so fricken anxious. The weather better cooperate when i get my parts. As of now there is snow and freezing rain. Not lookin good, but i'm from michigan, we're known for the craziest weather swings, i'm hopin for 50s one of these days lol.

I'll defintley try to get some clips or a vid up when i get it installed, not sure how to make it work on the comp, but i'll give it a shot

Well I'm looking to get gears and am not worried about gas mileage or highway driving since all i do is city driving. I was told that gears dont even hurt gas mileage if you drive normal. Made sense to me. Now i'm not going to have enough money to get drag radials and i'm not going to be taking this car to the track. I just want a quick ride thats really fun to drive (DUH). Since both gears are the same price i'm not sure which to go with. I'm leaning heavily towards 4.30s since they seem like they would be the most fun. So what gears would you get in my situation?
Is nobody picking up on this? He doesnt drive on the highway, so that tells me all of his driving/racing is going to be mostly from a stop/slow roll.

So he doesnt have the money for new tires (D/Rs arnt much/any more expensive than regulars) and you saying 4.30s?? Im saying even 4.10s are pushing it. What, he finnally gets to floor it in 3rd???? Am I competely off the wall here thinking that 1st and 2nd gear with the car WOT is gonna result in a whole lot of tire smoke?

I had a set of good (and expensive) BFG radials on my car before the D/Rs, and even with 3.73s I was having a hard time going WOT in first. I know from dynos my car isnt a freak, and his is gonna wiegh even more ( with a convertable, more wieght to get moving, easier to burn out).

thanks for the vote and advice. I have actually decided to hold off on the gears for now since the exhaust was pretty expensive and i'm still not sure what to do about the gears. But when its time to get some gears, i'll try to bring this thread back up and see what the new opinions are based on my updated situation lol.

I've the 4.10's & I love them. I've never tried the 4.30's, but for the slight difference in rpms...I'd go that way now had I a chance to do it again.
