Confused about MIL's and O2 sensors
I just bought a pypes o/r x pipe from blue oval industries (ebay)advertised for 02, 03, and 04 gt's. I have tried searching, but I am still confused about what I will need as far as MIL eliminators and 02 sensor extensions. I have a 2004 gt....Thanks

RE: Confused about MIL's and O2 sensors
Couple things:
1. Do you have long tube headers? If you do then you will want the o2 sensor extender. Unless the o2's have been lengthend already.
2. MIL eliminator is a peice that plugs into the cord from the o2 sensor and the cord that leads to the ecu. It tricks the ecu to thinking that you have cats (so the check engine light doesnt come on). IF you have a handheld tuner then you wont need the mil's. Good cheap way to get rid of annoying check engine light.
According to BBK, the check engine light pulls timing and fuel which gives you less power!! So just buy the MIL's

1. YES you will need extensions for the fronts, but that's ONLY with LT headers.
04 GT's NEED extensions for the rear NO MATTER WHAT. If you do not have a tuner, you will need MIL's as well.
My suggestion? Make your own MIL's, cliffyk has a good write up on it on his site ( http://paladinmicro.com/MyMustang/Mu...Eliminator.htm). Make extensions into your MIL setup, you will save $80+ easily for an hour's worth of work... just do it, it's really not that hard.

RE: Confused about MIL's and O2 sensors
I don't have longtubes so no extentsion forthefront sensors. All I have to do is plug the front O2's in, but for the rears I need toby a set of O2 extensions and MIL eliminators before plugging them back into the midpipe, correct?
If the above is correct, does it matter what order you do the rears, as in extensions and then MIL's or MIL's then extensions before plugging them back into the midpipe?
