make sure the pulleys are aliaged properly and it uses the stock belt

GO to an auto parts store and tell them you need a belt thats 1 to 3 inches shorter than stock. It's not rocket science, the part numbers are the lengths of the belts. Just tell them what you need they'll find it. Although some autozones are clueless, some are pretty helpful. I work at advance auto and 3/4 of the people that come in either don't know what kind of car they have or they swear the stock one doesn't fit. ALL auto parts stores that carry belts also have a belt measuring tool.

You are supposed to use the stock belt. Put the crank pully on all the way and you wont shread the belt. A belt would never shread just because its a little to big.
